Movies Grand Junction Movie Theater in Grand Junction CO

Movies Grand Junction Movie Theater, In the old days, there were only a few places to watch movies in Grand Junction. Those included the Cooper, Mesa, and Monument Twin Cinemas. Teller Arms Twin and if you were a drive-in kind of person, you went to the Chief or Rocket.

Now there are plenty of places to see a movie in town. We’ve listed them below, so if you have a favorite theater that’s not on the list, let us know in the comments!

Movies in the Park

During the good old days, there were a handful of theaters to choose from. Among them were the Cooper, Mesa, Monument Twin Cinemas, Teller Arms Twin, and Cinema 25. A handful of other smaller theaters didn’t cut. But there was still plenty to choose from for the casual moviegoer. Today there are many new and improved venues. For those looking to catch the latest blockbuster.

Besides the numerous state-of-the-art theaters. That are located throughout town, there are also several non-theatre venues. That offers a more intimate setting for your next big-screen adventure. In addition to movies plenty, Grand Junction features an impressive list of restaurants. Bar and grill establishments that provide some tasty fare at competitive prices. It’s the perfect destination for your next big night out or family get-together. The best way to enjoy it all is to take it easy. You can also plan a relaxing evening or two away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. By taking a cruise on the Rio Grande Railroad or a dip in the hot tubs at one of the local spas.

Movies on the Great Lawn

Whether you’re looking for the perfect spot to see a movie. Or just want to enjoy some entertainment under the stars, Grand Junction has you covered. With a variety of events throughout the year, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

For example, every Tuesday evening, you can dine at a variety of local restaurants in downtown Grand Junction. And then head to the Avalon Theatre for free movies. Simply bring your receipt from a downtown-area restaurant to the theater to receive admission to the 7:30 pm show.

This summer, you can also check out Movies on the Great Lawn. An outdoor movie series that starts around dusk. Features a selection of family-friendly movies on the grassy area of the Great Lawn. Tickets are free, and you’re encouraged to bring your blankets, chairs, and snacks.

Movies at the Avalon Theatre

A massive theater destination built in the 1920s for performing arts & independent film screenings. This landmark building is one of western Colorado’s largest and most prestigious venues. With 1,095 seats in its auditorium, the Avalon Theatre is home to a wide variety of music and entertainment.

Concerts, dances, lectures, and private events are hosted at this historic venue. It has a long history of hosting major acts like Al Jolson and Lyle Lovett.

The Avalon Theatre is located in downtown Grand Junction. It is Western Colorado s largest performing arts hall and a historical anchor to Downtown. Open year-round, it features dance, theatre, foreign and independent film series, concerts, lectures, and private events.

Tuesday nights are the perfect time to grab dinner in downtown Grand Junction. Then head over to the Avalon Theatre for a free movie. Simply bring in a receipt from a downtown store or restaurant on the same date. The movie is to receive admission for two people.

Movies at the Plaza

In Grand Junction, you had a handful of indoor theatres to choose from. These included Cooper, Mesa, Teller Arms Twin, and Cinema 25. If you wanted a drive-in, you went to the Chief or Rocket.

The Colorado West was also a twin-screen mall theater that opened in 1981. The Colorado West was part of the Westland and Commonwealth UA chain of theatres. And was overseen by a capable manager, Dieter Sutherland.

It was a fine theatre in its day, even though it had no IMAX screens and no reclining seats. It had an excellent projection and sound system.

Another of our local cinemas was the Regal Canyon View Stadium 14. A 14-screen complex with a contemporary look that supports advanced technologies. That is including RealD 3D and 2D ultra-bright technology. The venue is conveniently located near Grand Mesa. Two Rivers Winery and a variety of restaurants. Its special amenities include stadium seating. Online ticketing, automated kiosks, and a party room.
